My creations, in all types of media. Many pieces reflect the macabre that was Edgar Allan Poe...enjoy!

National Poetry Month
I took a visit to the grave of Sarah Helen Whitman of Providence Rhode Island. She was engaged to Poe in 1848, it started with a poem he wrote to her, describing how he first saw her in her rose garden on Benefit St. He proposed in a cemetery, quite fitting for two characters such as themselves. She had a heart condition that forced her to carry a hanker-chief soaked in ether that she put to her mouth and breathed in often. She wore a coffin shaped pendant around her neck and dressed in black, and on Sundays, held seance's. The engagement was broken off after Poe broke his promise not to drink. He died a year later anyway...

Poe
This one was done in sharpie, it's from his most famous image, with a little of my own artistic license blended in.
